 Today we continued on the story of "Devoted Son" and started on a group project. The project is based on the themes in the story and each group was to choose a theme to work on. My group is working on the theme "culture expectations and ambitions". We are to make cultural connections to complete the project. 

 Today we read the story "Devoted Son" and answered more discussion questions about what we read. The story was interesting with showing how different Indian culture is and the different expectations Rakesh parents had for him. I related to some and also connected and also saw some differences in it. 

We had to complete some discussion questions before reading the story "Devoted Son". The questions were mostly culture questions that also connected to the story and probably what the story would be about. Cultural connection to the story. Pretty interesting to know about what the story revolves around with culture and by answering these questions I can tell that it will be about probably culture expectations on a son. 

 Today we worked on a Newsela article. We had to answer some cuestiona for the quiz. 

 We did our test on William Blake poems that we have been reading. 

 We Rea another poem by William Blake called the chimney weeper adding on the other one. We also answered more questions 

 We read a poem by William Blake. The chimney sweeper and we answered some questions. 

 

 

 Today we read two more poems by William Blake. The Lamb and The Tyler. Both really beautiful poems where one talks about innocence and the other one talks about evil. The Lamb represented innocence and also the innocence of children. Purity is beautiful. The Tyger represented the bad. The poems were really interesting to learn about how Gos created the good and badd and they are all innocent. 

 Today we looked at A Poison Tree, a poem by William Blake. We read the poem and annotated it. The poem talk about hat towards an enemy and related that to the growth of a tree. One of the themes of the poem is to not let hate grow into something worse, and also don't let it get the best of you. Pretty interesting how it was compared to a tree how the hate would grow and grows. 

 We also continued on the culture poems on the Jam Board. We are to finish it up and so far my classmate poems are good. I think that it let me see part of who they are and what they admire of their culture and also some tough parts about it. 

 We continued to work on the culture poems. Finishing writing it up and have to upload it on the Jamboard. We are to add out poem and pictures that go with the poem. I think it will be intresting to see others poems and what they have written. I think I will learn something from reading them. 

 We were given questions on I think our experience with cultures. We were to give our experiences and what we think on them. I think that to get to know a different culture you have to go out and search about it so you an be taught on it appropriately. This questions had me think of how i've encountered different cultures. 

We started on something different today.  We started talking about culture. We were introduced to  assignment where we have to make a culture poem based on our culture and how it has affected or impacted us or how it has shaped us so far. My poem is based on my Mexican culture and just talks about it. Would like to know more about my classmates cultures and would like to see how they have been shaped and also their thoughts. I think that would be interesting.
