We read the poem “Refugee In America” and figured out the moral of the poem which was that your rights are important. We looked into our rights as American citizens and also the importance of freedom and Liberty.
We started with a quick write asking u, What Is something your are but people say you Are Not? Also answering the question of what does being an American symbolize. One of my classmates had a good point saying that all whites are considers American even though they come from different places but when it come to someone like me I am considered Mexican American.
We read a poem named “The Negro Speaks of Rivers” by Langston Hughes. We annotated the prom and answered question #10 asking us what we consider our roots to be.
We worked on what we are starting to learn, dived into the subject of African American Culture. We took some notes about the history, demographics, state population, care values, and stereotypes.
