We read a poem named “The Negro Speaks of Rivers” by Langston Hughes. We annotated the prom and answered question #10 asking us what we consider our roots to be.
Today we started the topic on Black history month and talked about how Denzel Washington had a historical impact in African American history by being an African American male actor that won an Oscar for best actor. We also talked about racism and how it impacts the world and how would the world be different if racism didn’t exist. We continued on presentations on the SOW activity.
We read the poem “Refugee In America” and figured out the moral of the poem which was that your rights are important. We looked into our rights as American citizens and also the importance of freedom and Liberty.
